Frequently Asked Questions
What is a RTO?
Apex is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
All training organisations that want to issue Australian Quality
Framework qualifications or statements of attainment must be registered
by their relevant State (or Territory) government authority.
RTO’s can issue national qualifications and are eligible
to tender for public funding for vocational education and training.
What is a traineeship?
A traineeship combines employment with structured training that will lead to a nationally recognised qualification.
Who decides what the trainee needs to learn?
The training is agreed between the employer, RTO and trainee. The training is structured to meet the industry and government criteria and the training package provides the flexibility to enable tailoring to suit the trainee’s and/or employer’s requirements.
What is an Australian Apprenticeship Centre?
Australian Apprenticeship Centres (AACs) are contracted by the
Commonwealth Government to provide information and advice to employers
and trainees.
To find your nearest AAC, call the Australian Apprenticeships Hotline
